Flight schools
The schools programme puts your school inside the tool your students will use as professionals: your logo in their workspace, a code to enrol them, assignments with a dossier of facts, and the attestation in the chain. It comes with the School plan and is also included in Crew, Ops and ULTRA; student accounts are free.
Switching the programme on
In the organisation profile, section Flight school (student co-brand), switch on We are a flight school and choose your School code (for example skyacademy-london). The code admits students only while the programme is on: a school without the programme has the qualification, not the door. Upload your logo under Your brand: that is what students will see.
Students
Each student signs up for free with your code, or links to the school from their profile (section Your school, field School code). Or you enrol them yourself: in School → Assignments, the New student button asks for first name, last name, phone and email; the student gets their own workspace under your logo and receives a link to choose a password. If they already have a personal workspace on Dronetrake, not linked to another school, that workspace is linked to yours.
Their workspace stays theirs: co-branding only changes the logo and the name, you do not enter their data. With the code of a school whose programme is on, the student receives a welcome hour of live streaming (60 minutes, one-off, on a verified phone number); whoever joins after signing up receives the difference. In the profile, Linked students shows how many students are linked.
Assignments
In School → Assignments, Assign a task gives a task to a linked student: zone (point and radius), minimum and maximum altitude, manoeuvres, deadline, and the preparation evidence you require. A task is a proposal: the student accepts or declines it. On acceptance the mission is created in their workspace, and from then on you see the facts of that task only.
You choose among eight kinds of evidence, and they are facts with their time, never judgements:
- Zone checked on /fly — the student's checks on /fly of a point inside the task zone, with outcome and time.
- METAR read — the bulletin frozen at the first signed checklist, or on hand-in.
- Checklist signed — who signed, when, in which phase.
- Briefing / operation order authorised — the mission's operation order, who authorised it and when.
- Zone NOTAMs attached — the NOTAMs uploaded to the mission, with fingerprint and time.
- Flight track inside the zone — the mission's flights read from telemetry: points inside the zone, altitudes, points outside the altitudes.
- Live stream followed by the school — the student's live sessions within the task window; see below.
- Flight recording, marked — the recordings of the student's sessions within the task window are born marked as evidence: fingerprint and chain, plus the nightly seal if the student has switched it on; while they stay marked they cannot be deleted. The storage weighs on whoever pays for the live stream.
The live stream followed by the school
If the task requires Live stream followed by the school, by accepting it the student opens the live stream of their channel to you while the task is open. You do not enter their organisation: you receive a viewer link tied to the task, shown on the task page as Link to follow the live stream, and an email notice when the student goes live. If the student has no channel yet, one is prepared for them. The live sessions within the task window — when, how long, on which channel — become facts. On hand-in, withdrawal or detachment from the school the link switches off by itself.
Inside the task the live minutes are taken from the school's monthly hours, while it has any; if the school is at zero, from the student's minutes (the welcome hour, their plan). Outside the task the student always pays.
Viewer controls (School and ULTRA plans): in the task the school decides, with Viewer controls for the school: pause and −30 s and The school can download the clip, whether on the live link it can pause, go back 30 seconds — repeatedly — and download the clip as an MP4. The school decides, not the student.
In-flight voice
In the assignment, the school switches on In-flight voice (School and ULTRA plans) and chooses What the session keeps: Actions only (who spoke, when and for how many seconds) or Audio as well. The student reads both choices before accepting; after acceptance they no longer change.
Once the assignment is accepted, the student finds the In-flight voice section on the assignment page with two QR codes: one for the phone they fly with, one to give to the observer, who doesn't need an account. On the page, tap Start to hear the others; the microphone only opens the first time you press Hold to talk. With an earpiece you can choose I'm wearing an earpiece: open voice, no need to hold and go back with Back to hold-to-talk. Before the microphone, the page says what the session keeps and who will be able to replay it.
The instructor (owner, admin or pilot of the school) talks from the In flight section of the assignment page: hold the button or the space bar, and you hear the pilot and the observer. From the same section the instructor writes text instructions with Send: in the field they appear one at a time, with Got it, and the instructor sees whether they are sent, delivered or acknowledged.
Also from the In flight section, the instructor can send the pilot and observer links by SMS with Send by SMS: the message goes out in the school's name and counts against the SMS of its plan.
Transmissions, instructions and, with Audio as well, the audio go into the dossier. The audio is a single encrypted file, with the key for the student and for the school: both replay it with Listen, and neither can take it away from the other. With Actions only the voice is not recorded anywhere. On delivery, withdrawal or detachment the voice closes by itself.
Dossier and attestation
The task page shows the dossier: how many of the required pieces of evidence have at least one fact, and every fact with its time. When the mission is completed the student presses Hand in; on hand-in the attestation is created in the school's chain, with the fingerprint of the whole dossier. If the school has switched on Nightly seal with timestamp (profile, section Evidence and timestamping), the nightly seal of an independent provider also covers it; without it, the attestation has the chain only.
On the task page the Training attestation check link opens the public page: anyone verifies, without an account, that the attestation exists, is intact and on which date it was recorded. The content of the dossier stays private. The attestation is the school's: Dronetrake records the facts.
Withdrawal and detachment
The student can withdraw consent to an accepted task (Withdraw consent): the school no longer sees that task, the mission stays with the student. If the student detaches from the school, or the school detaches them (Unlink a student, in the profile), open tasks are closed; completed ones remain readable to the school, they are its teaching material.
